Google UK Search
Google appear to be testing out a new search page that doesn't give the user the option to perform a search local to their home country. It also seemed to be only testing this out with Google Chrome and, as far as we can tell, it doesn't appear to have been documented anywhere.

Google Increase Page Rank of Bing
Since the release of Bing, the Google Page Rank of the site had been set at PR level 2. This week that level has jumped up to PR level 9 showing that Google are taking the competition fairly seriously and even indexing search results from Bing.

Local Searching
Search engines seem to be rapidly expanding the amount of local content that is shown when users initiate a search with implicit local information in that search. Taking this knowledge you'll realise that there is a huge opportunity for small local businesses to get their services noticed.

Google Personalised Searches aka Web History
When you perform a search on Google, you may get results back that are different to if someone else performs exactly the same search. This is known as a Google Personalised Search or a Web History search and in Google's own words is "based on the things you've searched for on Google and the sites you've visited".
